~COME TOGETHER by Jessica Hawkins Review ~
*WARNING ADULT LANGUAGE*
COME TOGETHER is the third and final installment of The Cityscape Series.
With a single decision, Olivia Germaine’s fantasy has become a reality. Now she is faced with two commitments: one she must make and one she must break. But in order to accept a love she never thought possible, Olivia will have to let go of the broken past that defines her – and of deeply-rooted fears that could ruin everything.
Everything is what David Dylan wants to give her, and it’s what he wants in return. He must prove to Olivia that despite his playboy ways, he’s worth leaving behind the stable future her husband can offer her. David is a man who always gets what he wants . . . but this time he may be fighting for something unattainable.
Can Olivia escape the past that threatens to consume her?
And can David break through to her before it does?
Oh Mr. Dylan, of course I’d love to hold your big, long, hard…Oh My! Oops…Sorry…I forgot we had company hehehe….Now what was that again? Right my review (wink wink). The first two books, COME UNDONE and COME ALIVE, in the CITYSCAPE SERIES blew me away. Did I have high expectations for the third and final installment, COME TOGETHER, well duh of course I did. Did JESSICA HAWKINS a.k.a. Mz. Saucy, meet them? Hell fucking yeah and then some! Boom! COME TOGETHER didn’t disappoint, kept me on my toes and at the edge of my seat. David and Liv face true challenges as a couple in this book instead of alone. COME TOGETHER introduces new characters, answers some of the curiosities of supporting characters, and wraps up the drama known as the “Bill…Liv…Dylan…Triangle.” You’ll get a chance to delve into some of the core issues from the previous books as well as new issues. Oh and don’t forget the HAWT AS FUCK SEX SCENES!! :) No need to hide that ya’all just wanted to read the parts where Liv and David get it on. I won’t tell Mz. Saucy. I believe that COME TOGETHER truly allowed Liv to grow into the woman she was meant to be, not the woman others (ahem…Bill and her mother) wanted her to be. She needed to find her way and with David by her side, I’m confident that she will. The series in all was not overly dramatic, which I liked, realistic, and it was unique in its’ very own way. It brought something fresh and new to the table, allowing readers to view a different perspective of something so taboo (adultery). JESSICA’s writing is phenomenal. She has a unique talent for bringing the characters and the events to life with a touch of a button, literally. Not only do her words leave you breathless or wanting more, they will make you feel the pain, fear, confusion, excitement, and joy for the characters within COME TOGETHER. Mz. Saucy is passionate, gritty, and honest in her writing which makes her a force to be wreckoned with! I’m sad to see the series end, but I’m excited to see what else JESSICA will come up with next! This is just the beginning and it’s going to be a hell of a ride!
Yes, he knows, and yes, he’s supportive. My dad has always been my biggest champion, as you can probably see. Well, David might’ve stolen that title now. When Dad is hard on me, it’s because he wants me to excel. He was more skeptical to find out I was quitting my job than about the children thing. He’s not quite thrilled with my newfound profession, but again, he remains supportive.
ADBA: What do you think your life would have been like if you hadn’t found your happily ever after with David?
I would have been happy in my own way. David opened a part of me that I wanted to keep closed. If nobody had forced me to pry myself open like he did, I’d still be… guarded. I think Bill and I would’ve bought a house and probably we would’ve had children. And of course, I’d have loved them. Bill too. But I can’t say for sure that I’d be truly happy. My sacrifice would’ve been too great for that. Now that I know true happiness, going back to that life would be death.
