I’ll be honest and say I was a little excited to see that this read was a short one. I finished it in the span of an hour and a half. Then, I found myself with a whole where my heart should have been. I felt empty. I wanted MORE. It was too short! I had so many mixed feelings. Here I was happy that there was a short story to read, yet by the end I was so involved with the characters and every little action or word they spoke in the pages of the story that I found myself yearning for more. This goes to show that it was just that good. I hadn’t ever read a romance involving the Marine Corps or the current war in Afghanistan.
This was definitely a new kind of read for me, and I enjoyed every second of it. Dorian is such a feisty hellcat who doesn’t take crap from anyone, while Rob is pretty calm yet is capable of handling someone as complex as Dorian. Both characters allow each other to complement the personality of the other. Their relationship contains truth, emotion, and a passion that is very rare to see in times of war. I felt like they both lived such distorted live that when they came together as one, they were able to focus. This read was very enjoyable, so much so that I wished it was longer. Don’t be put down by the length of it. What this short story contains is worth more than 100 fluffy romance novels. Take a chance and read it! FIVE STARS for this little gem! And that says a lot!
Meet Author Petronela Ungureanu
I’ve recently had the pleasure of conducting an interview with author Petronela Ungureanu. Partnering up with publishing house, Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly, Petronela has released her first short story via Amazon earlier this year, known as Lost in the Seven Worlds. She is a lover of elves and fairies and loves writing about them. Creative, classy, mysterious, and out of this world are a few words to describe Lost in the Seven Worlds. Petronela has defiantly made her mark in the fantasy/romance genre and I am truly excited to see what else she comes out with next! Interview conducted below:
ADBA: What or who inspired you to become an author?
PU: It just came naturally as a most irresistible need to escape. It makes me so happy to get away from everyday life and create new worlds and weave astonishing adventures
ADBA: What inspired Lost in the Seven Worlds?
PU: Lost in the Seven Worlds is a fantasy I’ve had for many years. The story determined me to write a novel based on it, it is going to be a very long one.
ADBA: Describe your writing style in 5 words
PU: I have no technique. I follow my instinct. I try to constantly improve myself, but what I care most is to transmit emotion, I am not very much interested in craft.
ADBA: If you weren’t an author what would you be doing with your life?
PU: Not much, I assure you. That would be a very sad life indeed.
ADBA: Any advice to those wanting to become authors?
PU: To never give up. And to keep in mind that Narnia’s author C.S Lewis was rejected 400 time before he was published.
ADBA: Any idea as to when a next installment of Lost in Seven Worlds will be coming out?
PU: I couldn’t say. I haven’t even reached the half :). And I am a very lazy person unfortunately. But I’ve finished a Regency novella instead, that I am very fond of.
ADBA: Do you have any other genres of writing that you’d like to release a piece on?
PU: Actually a few days ago, my publishing house Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly released my paranormal short story
“I met a Demon” (Based on actual events). It is a disturbing true story narrated to me by someone very close.
